“Children are the nation’s hope. But what kind of future awaiting them if we do very little to save the only planet we have from the detrimental impact of climate change?” This is the question raised by Salinlahi Alliance for Children’s Concerns and Association for the Rights of Children in Southeast Asia (ARCSEA) during an event dubbed Children for Climate Justice at the Sunken Garden, UP Diliman in Quezon City last November 30, 2019.
In time for the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, various organizations held an event dubbed as Children for Climate Justice. The activity aimed to provide a venue where children and youth can express their collective concern over the continuing violations on their rights as children, as well as the threat to their future due to the ensuing bastardization of the environment.
